The All About Food From  Farm to Fork Conference is sponsored by the Macomb Food Collaborative.  It is an annual event to help inform and educate the community about food.  

County Executive Mark Hackel will welcome community residents and foodies to the conference starting at 9 am.  The Opening Speaker will be Mike DiBernardo of the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.  Workshop sessions include:  Grandma's Special Cookies, How to sell a food product, Urban Sprout Community Garden, Food Assistance Options for Farmers Markets, Understanding Your Community Food System and Food Demonstrations.  Session 2 sessions include: What is Happening at Detroit Eastern Market, Innovations in Community Food Systems, Successful Farm to School Strategies, and more Food Demonstrations.

A Local Lunch will be start at 12 noon followed by our lunch program with United Dairy Industry of Michigan ~~  Session 3 workshops include:  Backyard Gardening, Safe Food From the Farm for Institutions,  How do Food Hubs engage Local Food Systems?, Opportunities in Food System Supply and Demand, and more Food Demonstration with Home Food Preservation methods.

The conference will end with "Emerging Food  Markets, What's Next?" with a Food Business Panel.
